About the Artist

Internationally known, award winning artist Michael P. Frase has a mountain of reference material for his 100% original acrylic paintings. Although he has over 6000 slides of his own to work from, he also works with some of the top photographers in the country, including Don Barton, Dale Frangos, Mary Keller, Wally Schroth, Monty Sloan, Tom and Barbara Silver, James Storm, and Richard G. Wells.

Recent state and national achievements by the Norwegian-American artist include:

* Winner of the 1997-1998 State of Florida Waterfowl Stamp
* First Place Winner (cover) - 1997 Indiana Wildlife Calendar
* Winning entry in the 1999 Indiana Wildlife Calendar
* Winning entries - 1994, 1995, and 1996, 1999 and the 2000 West Virginia Outdoor Calendar.
* Second Place - 1992 Michigan Duck Stamp
* Second Place - 1992 Florida duck Stamp
* Second Place - 1993 Michigan duck Stamp
* Top five - 1991 Ducks Unlimited Michigan
* Fifth Place - 1994-1995 Nevada Duck Stamp
* Finalist in several other national contests

Some recent limited edition prints from the artist include the 1998 Wolf Park print and stamp, The Florida Panther Society's print and stamp, The Animals of Turpentine Creek print series, the Vikingship Anund print in Sweden that was also used by the Hallsta Brewery in Sweden, for the just introduced Anund Beer! And the just introduced Jewels of the Wires series of insulator prints!

Paintings and prints by the artist are now in all 50 states, and dozens of other countries. The Michigan artist's work has also been used to help raise funds for Audubon, National Wildlife Federation, Easter Seals, C.A.R.E., Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, and several other groups.
